Visual identity for FACT Liverpool, a leading organisation for the support and exhibition of film, art and new media.
The concept for the identity was based on the phrase “Fact opens the window to the world”. The bold wordmark has a window cut out in the middle that expands to edges of the format creating a frame. This frame adapts creating a room for visual content – image and text.
The lettering of the logotype was inspired by advertisements from the 60s still visible on the streets of Liverpool. To create the contrast between a strong and robust logo and other texts, we choose a simple and straight-talking typeface, Union Regular designed by Radim Peško. Used only in one weight it forces the content and design to be clear with a strong hierarchy.
